We arrived at Candlewood Suites at 11:00 PM after a 5-hour drive with my wife and 80-year-old parents, only to be told our two prepaid, two-night rooms were canceled in their system. The front desk clerk called the manager, who provided no apology or explanation and handled the situation with zero empathy. Meanwhile, Expedia verified directly with me that our booking was active, confirmed, and prepaid. The Expedia representative tried repeatedly to contact the hotel to rectify the situation, to no avail. After an hour of waiting in the lobby past midnight, the hotel made no effort to accommodate us, forcing us to scramble and book another hotel nearby. Leaving paying guests stranded late at night is completely unacceptable. Be careful when choosing a hotel for your next stay.
